Growing up in the Cape May area, Michelle Barbera always had a love for the shore and all it has to offer. Barbera has called Margate home since 1998 and, after running her own fitness studio, is now partner at CrossFit OTG. She has worked with athletes of all ages, abilities and disabilities from children to seniors; from those with desk jobs to pro-athletes; and those with prosthetic limbs, auto-immune disorders and cancer.
Her career in health and fitness has enabled her to also be active in the community with local fundraising efforts via races, obstacle challenges and now, paddle boarding.Barbera’s two passions combined in 2013 when she began her involvement with the DRCF. “I couldn’t think of a better fit than to be with people who desire to help better the lives of others and love the water,” Barbera said.
Barbera participated in her first Paddle for a Cause in 2014 doing the 8-mile fun paddle and bringing a bunch a friends along for the experience.
